Charging infrastructure in the Regional Energy Strategy (RES)
Wouter Langendoen (NVDE) and Marieke Segaar (ElaadNL)Regional Energy Strategies (RESs) have been drawn up in 30 regions by cooperating municipalities and provinces. In these, charging infrastructure should of course not be missing. The number of electric vehicles is growing rapidly and all those EVs do need to be charged. With smart system choices such as Smart Charging, they can also provide flexible power demand, allowing them to be used to integrate solar and wind energy in a sustainable energy system. With input from ElaadNL and others, the NVDE made a Checklist Charging Infrastructure in the RES.

Towards sufficient manpower for installation and maintenance of charging stations
Henri Overbeek (Venema E-Mobility Charge Systems) and Nathan Spiro (ElaadNL)The number of electric cars will continue to rise sharply in the coming years. This naturally creates the demand for the corresponding charging infrastructure and its safety. But how do we ensure sufficient well-qualified personnel to realise the transition to electric mobility? Henri Overbeek from Venema E-Mobility Charge Systems talks about the challenges of finding sufficient technical staff and Nathan Spiro talks about ways to reduce the existing labour shortage. Also joining the panel are Martha van den Hengel (People Make the Transition) and Lennard Nellestein (Connectr) to elaborate on the topic.

The road to the Energy Hub
Luuk van Loosdrecht and Rein Boshuisen (both of Stevin) and Paul Broos (ElaadNL)An energy hub is a location where a lot of energy supply and/or demand comes together. Think of a motorway service area with fast chargers for cars, a truck charger and local generation. But all these facilities are not there at once. For each facility, the grid operator receives a new expansion request. How can the grid operator proactively ensure sufficient capacity without having to repeatedly bury kilometres of cables? We answered these and other questions during a webinar on energy hubs on 29 October 2020. More info on the Energy Hub can be found on Stevin's website, among others: www.stevin.com/energy-hub.
