Workshop on Life Cycle Costing (LCC &TCO)
On 20 March, the participants attended a hands-on training course that provided a comprehensive introduction to the basics of Life Cycle Costing / Total Cost of Ownership (LCC/TCO).
The objective was not only to extensively and actively introduce participants to the thinking around LCC, but also to introduce trainees to the specially designed software tool LCC-Lite Plus, so that targeted investment choices and cost savings over the life cycle of assets are within reach.
Everything is illustrated and experienced by the participants themselves using stimulating challenges, for example in a question-and-answer game, example cases that tie in with the basic principles, but also using a number of recognisable examples from various asset management work environments .
This interactive training session took one half-day session led by Ms Olga van Kampen, Credits Personal Assistance vof WEB: http://www.credits.co.nl, e-mail: info@credits.co.nl tel +31 (0)26-2135468, +31 (0)6-30674879
This workshop will be held again in March 2016.
Description
Acquisition and design determine what an asset costs over its lifecycle.
Sometimes a higher investment pays off in order to realise a much lower cost over its lifecycle!
By calculating with the LCC method, you clearly visualise the costs and benefits over the lifecycle and this enables better choices and cost savings.
LCC is a "design-to-cost" model by insightfully graphing costs over the lifecycle.
Life Cycle Costing (LCC/TCO) pays off: The true costs of a project or object come to light, enabling more effective decision-making and collaboration.
Cost savings for your own organisation and informed choice recommendations for your customers come within reach.

By calculating with the LCC method, you bring this clearly into focus and thus a lot of costs can be saved.
LCC is a "design-to-cost" model by insightfully graphing the costs over the lifespan.
Most costs can be saved in replacement issues.
Different cost scenarios can be quickly compared. The economic moment of replacement can be simply determined, with or without an investment alternative.
S&G has developed this workshop to learn how to apply the LCC method thoroughly in practice.
The LCC-Lite software tool offered here is specially designed for cost-benefit analyses at project level, based on Life Cycle Costing techniques.
LCC-Lite makes comparing the costs of different alternatives over the lifecycle simple.

In this workshop, you will get the theory, practical
skills and backgrounds in a utility shell. You can continue the practical training later and at home. You will use the Life Cycle Costing programme immediately afterwards.
The following topics will be covered. Everything is immediately practised and practically applied:
Brush up on and test knowledge of relevant economic
concepts.
Influence of interest.
- Operating replacement time
- Optimising maintenance.
- Income and LCC.
- Inflation and LCC.
- History, backgrounds, relationship with topics
- such as sustainability.
- Sensitivity analyses.
Traditional techniques and what LCC adds. Participants will have access to LCC functionality (LCC-LitePlus) for six months.
You will be given 'homework' in the form of a case study. The person who works out this case best will be awarded a voucher of 100 euros. The software allows you to make your own pr
