ASML is a Dutch high-tech company and one of the main suppliers of machines for the semiconductor industry, in particular steppers and scanners, which are used in making chips.

Customers are mostly chip producers (http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASML).

KIVI NIRIA's Department of Technical Physics is organising a visit to ASML in Veldhoven on 23 October next. After an introduction about the company, the latest development will be discussed, a 13.5 nm wavelength EUV machine for illuminating the smallest possible structures. There will then be a tour of the company.

Start 13.30 (report to the reception of building 7, De Run 6665).
There is room for twenty participants in this excursion.
