Description

Solliance, started in 2010, is an alliance in the field of thin film PV (solar cells) technology with the aim of introducing into our environment innovative PV products with a much higher level of integration. Thin film PV offers this opportunity, it can be produced in standard modules, but it can also be integrated into products such as transport equipment, the built environment and greenhouses. Thin-film PV has the potential to be cheaper than crystalline silicon solar cells because of lower use of raw materials and the possibility of roll-to-roll production.

Solliance is based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. It is a collaboration on technology development, strategy and business development. The parties involved in it are ECN, TNO, Holst Centre, IMEC, Julich, TU Delft and TU Delft.
The infrastructure at semi-industrial level is unique and scores high in terms of industrial interest. Solliance now has more than six major industrial contracts and the number is steadily increasing
