Description

An eventful period of over a decade of construction on the North/South Line is coming to an end. A period in which much experience was gained with underground construction in a historic city centre and its effects on the surrounding area. Now that the construction period is coming to an end, it is time to take stock of the experiences and lessons learned. To this end, several parties have intensively analysed the extensive monitor data in recent years and have come to remarkable new insights. Among other things, their findings have led to more accurate calculation models for determining the risks of underground construction in cities.

During the mini-symposium 'Building under the city: can it be done with less damage?', the research results and practical application will be presented for the first time. A unique opportunity to better understand the impact of building under cities and get a better grip on the risks
