We are pleased to announce that ing. Duco Bergwerf, Manager Engineering & Design at VSF, will provide a keynote at Geotechnical Engineering Day 2025.
With more than 25 years of experience in civil engineering, from executor to design leader, Duco takes us through an impressive real-life example: 'Recovery piling plan Princess Margriet Tunnel, design and execution'.
In December 2022, this crucial aqueduct in the A7 had to be closed unexpectedly due to a calamity: one of the supports had risen by as much as 6 cm, upon which the aqueduct had to be closed to all traffic. Together with Rijkswaterstaat, Van Hattum en Blankevoort and VSF, a solution was found. The result? A robust rehabilitation that will make the tunnel last for years again.
During his keynote, Duco will share how the (re)design and implementation came about, and which technical and organisational challenges had to be overcome.
This is a unique opportunity to learn from a practical case in which design, implementation and cooperation under great pressure come together.
