This year's award was won by the Flax Mill Sugar Museum in Klundert

Communication from the GDT department board

On Monday 4 November, the award ceremony of the Willem Wolff prize will be held. This year, the prize has been won by the Flaxery-Sugar Museum in Klundert. A one-day programme has been set up around it and members of the department are invited to attend. Histechnica members can also participate.

The final programme will be determined shortly but these are the outlines:

  • departure by bus from Rotterdam Alexander station to Klundert
  • guided tour of the museum
  • prize-giving ceremony
  • lunch at the museum
  • departure for Dinteloord
  • guided tour of the sugar factory, which will then be in full operation. The tour is extra extensive as it is mainly technical.
  • departure by bus to Rotterdam Alexander.

You will soon receive a formal invitation after which you can register.

The contribution to the costs will be €29.50 pp. You can of course go with your own transport, but this will not reduce the cost contribution.
