DPD distribution centre Veenendaal
Description
DPD's new distribution centre can hardly be called standard. The sustainable character of the building is particularly special. The entire office - with a floor area of about 1,300 square metres - will be energy-neutral, with techniques including heat and cold recovery. The 11,000-square-metre warehouse is also designed to be energy-efficient. The Holland Hub is also built in such a way that the building can easily be extended in a second phase with additional warehouses on the roof for loading smaller parcel shipments.
We visit at the busiest time of the day. More than 90,000 parcels are sorted per day. VanderLande sorting systems are used for this purpose. The month of December is much busier when 200,000 to 250,000 parcels a day are processed.
