Description

Earthquakes, related to years of gas extraction from the 'Slochteren' field, are increasing both in quantity and intensity. In 2013, a total of 14 studies were conducted on the backgrounds and effects of these induced earthquakes. On 17 January 2014, the Ministry of Economic Affairs published the results of these studies and announced the decision on the Extraction Plan for the period 2014-2016, as well as what the expectations are regarding the severity and numbers of earth tremors during further gas extraction in Groningen.

The 'Oil and Gas Technology' and 'Mining' departments of the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) are pleased to invite you to an evening meeting on this important topic.
