Offshore in Brabant "off-course"
Description
On 16 June 2009, KIVI NIRIA is organising an offshore conference in cooperation with Hogeschool AVANS. Speakers at this event at the Hogeschool AVANS in 's-Hertogenbosch will include ir. E. Heerema (director All Seas) and drs. G. Hamers (director IHC Merwede). Other inspiring and prominent speakers will also show why the Netherlands holds a leading position in the global offshore.
OF COURSE BRABANT!
In September 2008, the Hogeschool AVANS started the minor Offshore Engineering & Automation. The participation of more than 20 companies in this minor has proved very successful for both student and company. Part of the programme is the Student Contest. This is a competition in which fourth-year students showcase their graduation work through poster presentations.
OFFSHORE HUB
KIVI NIRIA is focusing on the Hub as a hub of business activity as a technical social theme for 2009. With this theme, KIVI NIRIA focuses on internationally successful hub positions and the role of the Netherlands in them. Although the Netherlands is a small country, a remarkable number of Dutch companies play a leading role in the offshore industry.
NETHERLANDS OFFSHORE
Due to the growing demand for energy and the eventually rising price of oil and gas, new technologies are constantly being developed. Besides new methods for extracting conventional energy, work is also underway on deep-sea mining, offshore wind farms and other renewable energy initiatives. In this conference, leading companies will highlight their innovative projects. These presentations will be given by, among others:
- Amec Jacobs Stork
- Ampelmann Company
