"Integral design" too many aspects get no attention!

Within Risk Management and Engineering (RBT), we have been concerned for years about the lack of forward thinking during the design process. The focus is too much on realising the cheapest possible project to solve a problem, without sufficiently taking into account unwanted and unintended side effects.

Engineering firm Antea Group recognises this issue and is keen to engage with professionals to come up with better insights. Therefore, KIVI RBT and Antea Group are jointly organising a series of lectures on the various aspects that affect the living environment when designing an engineering installation.

The term 'living environment' is understood broadly and includes public space, private indoor environments, offices and schools.
The first lecture, organised in cooperation with Antea Group, is about 'the effects of sound on the living environment'.
To actually experience the impact of sound, this lecture includes a "soundwalk", where participants can experience at different locations what sound does to an environment.

The first lecture is scheduled for 9 April 2025.
