Description

Sustainability
As a sustainable material, flat glass can make an integral contribution to significant energy savings and GHG reduction, preventive and curative healthcare and wellbeing, learning and work performance, the indoor climate of buildings, vegetable growing, beautiful buildings and works of art. Finally, we note that smart use of flat glass offers great economic advantages and can contribute significantly to GHG reduction targets.

Applications
Flat glass has been used for centuries as a construction material in homes, schools, offices, factories, greenhouses, hospitals, noise barriers, etc.
It has a number of specific properties: it is transparent and allows sunlight, daylight, artificial light and heat radiation to pass through, has a very long lifespan, is weatherproof and windproof, is recyclable, etc.
By physical, chemical and mechanical processing, many specific properties can be given to flat glass, making it suitable for the selective transmission of sunlight, thermal and acoustic insulation, anti-glare, carrier of information, etc.
Many colours can be indicated. This makes it very suitable for adding colour to buildings, both on the facades and inside. But colourful works of art can also be made with it.

Craftsmanship and what will it bring us?
Making flat glass in all its application possibilities and works of art requires many kinds of craftsmen from artisan to university. As developments continue, their skills will also continue to evolve; we are getting smarter.
With flat glass we have opportunities to use economic benefits to organise our society in a more sustainable way and thus prepare for the future in a responsible way. Both People, Planet and Profit come into their own with the modern application possibilities of flat glass.
The speakers will show you possibilities, opportunities and challenges
