Rotterdam Central Station
Description
Rotterdam will have an attractive, dynamic, well-functioning public transport terminal. The new Rotterdam Central will be a transport hub of regional and international significance.
With 110,000 passengers per day, the station area handles as many passengers as Schiphol Airport. Besides connecting to the European network of high-speed trains (HSL-Zuid), Rotterdam Central will also have a connection to the light rail link RandstadRail. The arrival of HSL-South and RandstadRail is expected to increase the number of passengers at Rotterdam Central to some 323,000 a day by 2025.
Project manager Jan Schouten of ARCADIS will give a presentation on the project. This will include the master plan, the complexity of the project, how all interfaces will be secured and the phases to get from the old 1957 station to the new transport terminal.
Afterwards, the guided tour will take place.
