Description

ProRail is the second largest asset manager in the Netherlands. Since 2008, we have been implementing Performance Focused Maintenance. As part of this, we are also rebuilding the foundation of asset management. We call this the SAM (System Asset Management) programme.

In this presentation, we explain how, with SAM, we at ProRail are making the step from thinking in terms of risks to actual risk-based maintenance in practice. We will take you through the bumps we have taken. For example:

- What is the relationship between the SAM programme and an output-driven contract? Can they work together?
- What are we developing together with the contractors?
- What is changing in the provision of information?
- From great internal resistance to seeing opportunities?
- What tools and methods have been developed?

The story is a mix of the current state of affairs and a vision of the future. The structure is not yet finished, we are still at the beginning! But we want to share the first results with you already.

This presentation is relevant to anyone who is currently making the transition to large-scale performance-based risk-based maintenance. If you are interested, think you can provide us with valuable tips or can save us from pitfalls, come and listen and give us feedback.

There will be plenty of room to discuss experiences, results and insights. If you would like to contribute a particular proposition or case, you are most welcome and we will include it in the programme. Please send this to Bart Smit
