Description

The Traffic and Transport Section will hold its first members' meeting on Thursday 21 May 2015 at Engels Hall. In the members' meeting, the board would like to discuss with you the direction in which the section should develop and determine with you what activities the section should undertake.

Prior to this first members' meeting, there will be an opportunity to tour the new Rotterdam railway station with a guide and hear more about how this feat of Dutch architecture and engineering was brought about while all traffic flows had to continue to flow as much as possible.
Phases, challenges and creative solutions will be discussed in a presentation in English with discussion and you will be able to see the final result in the station itself and judge for yourself whether this building deserves the awards it has since received (So far Dutch Design Award 2014, the Brunel Award, the Houtarchitectuurprijs as well as the Nationale Staalprijs and the Living Daylights Award)

Please note: if this activity is full, you can still register separately for the members' meeting using the link above (after logging in to the KIVI site).
