Immersed Tunnel Masterclass 2026

Date: 26–29 August 2026

Language: English

We invite you to join our course on immersed tunnels and take part in a unique learning experience led by industry professionals from engineering firms, consultancies and contractors. Together, we will benefit from their extensive experience in the design and execution of immersed tunnel projects, gaining insights that link theory directly to real-world practice.

As we witness the rapid evolution of immersed tunnel technology—offering innovative solutions to complex infrastructure challenges across Europe and beyond—we also recognise the need to prepare the next generation of engineers for this growing field. Through this course, we aim to bridge that gap together by strengthening our knowledge, expanding our skills, and deepening our understanding of this specialised technique.

By taking part, we become part of a dynamic and collaborative community of students and professionals who share a passion for immersed tunnelling. We will not only learn from experts, but also from one another—building connections, exchanging ideas and fostering long-term engagement within the field.

In line with the mission of the International Tunnelling Association’s Working Group 11 on Immersed and Floating Tunnels (https://about.ita-aites.org/wg-committees/working-groups/198-ita-active-working-groups/207-working-group-11-immersed-and-floating-tunnels), we are committed to inspiring and supporting emerging talent. This course creates opportunities to connect with experienced practitioners, encouraging mentorship and meaningful knowledge exchange. Together, we contribute to shaping the future of immersed tunnelling whilst strengthening a global community of professionals.
