Vacancy

Vacancy: board member

The Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) is the professional association of Engineers and supports them in their professional/career development and social profiling. The Limburg Region brings Engineers into contact with each other on a multidisciplinary social basis. Geographically, the region covers the entire Limburg area, with more than 450 KIVI members residing in the region.

Purpose of the function

We work closely with stichting Drielanden ingenieurs Kontakten (DIK), a partnership between engineering associations in the Euregio (Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands).

As Region Limburg, we annually organise a number of meetings for members and guests. These can be Lectures, Webinars, Excursions and Company Visits. We maintain contacts with the education sector and promote technical education in the region through round table discussion groups with students. We also organise regular meetings to get to know each other better and exchange ideas. Networking is very important here, e.g. to find a job or internship and to learn from each other about interesting career options.

Profile

To maintain and possibly expand these tasks, we are looking for enthusiastic new board members who recognise themselves in the profile below:

  • Technical education following or completed at HBO or university level;
  • Interest in social and technical topics;
  • Knowledge of social media and its application in practice;
  • Time to attend board meetings and take on a board role. Usually 6-8 times a year;
  • Students wishing to gain board experience can join for a year.
