Applied physics in industry and research
KIVI's Department of Engineering Physics is active in the field currently referred to as industrial physics: applied physics in industry and research. Members of the department work in a wide range of disciplines.
Knowledge sharing and networking activities
Therefore, the Department of Engineering Physics develops activities that
- provide members with a broader view of interesting physics
- introduce members to organisations
- enable members to meet colleagues and make contacts (networking).
From company visits to community discussions
Thus, the department organises working visits to companies and institutions where leading technical physics research is carried out, organises lectures on new developments in technical physics research, and tries to make contributions in discussions on nature, quality and social problems in which technical physics aspects are important.
Collaborations
In achieving its goals, the department strives to cooperate with faculties where physical engineers are trained, and with the relevant student associations.
