Technology on bikes
The sheets of the presentations can be found under 'Documents'
Cycling plays an increasingly important role in various social tasks, such as health, housing, climate, energy transition and, of course, accessibility. It is therefore expected that people will cycle more and further in the coming years, even into old age. However, this also causes increasing crowding, speeds and speed differences on our cycle paths. This puts pressure on cycling safety.
Technology on bicycles offers opportunities to improve comfort and safety for cyclists. During this seminar, we will approach different forms of technology on cycling from four different perspectives; from the national government, science, the cycling industry and from a municipality. Our speakers are:
- Geertje Hegeman (Traffic Safety Department Head, Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management)
- Paul Havinga (Chair holder Pervasive Systems, University of Twente and scientific director TNO-ICT)
- Mark Dorlandt (Program manager R&D Lifestyle, Accell Group)
- Benjamin Groenewold (Policy advisor mobility, municipality of Enschede)
