Negotiation techniques - Kevin Tuinte as guest
Master class information
Negotiation techniques
Negotiation is woven into everything: from internships to salaries, project scope, stakeholder management, and even everyday collaborations. Yet most people rely on instinct rather than purposeful strategy. During this interactive Masterclass, Kevin Tuinte introduces a modern, research-based approach to negotiation to participants; one that goes beyond price-competition or win-lose thinking. After this Masterclass, participants will be able to understand and compare different negotiation strategies, prepare effectively for negotiations, and apply communication techniques to achieve better results.
Biography
Kevin Tuinte is a student of Philosophy of Science, Technology, and Society (PSTS) at the University of Twente, with a specialisation in negotiation. Fascinated by human connections and decision-making within technical and organisational processes, he found his passion at the intersection of technology, human behaviour, and collaborations.
His journey in negotiation strategies began with the Negotiation Project Twente (NPT), where he attended an eight-month programme and a board year. This enabled him to actually integrate negotiation strategies into his professional career. During this period, Kevin participated in the international negotiation community and attended conferences and events in Enschede, Paris, London, Warsaw, and Cape Town. One of his highlights was receiving the bronze medal for the international competition in negotiation at the Warsaw Negotiation Round.
Today, Kevin builds on this foundation in his role as a research assistant at the SMARTnership Negotiation organisation, where he translates negotiation theory into practical tools that young professionals can apply directly in practice.
Kevin's vision is clear: "To create a world where every young professional is prepared to negotiate their way through the complex world we live in."
