Departmental board
The Department Board is responsible for:
- Organising professional activities of interest to the members of the Electrical Engineering Division. These activities are (partly) delegated to regional or sectoral activity committees.
- Taking initiatives in the interest of the members.
- Reporting to the KIVI Staff Bureau on the activities of the Electrical Engineering Division.
- Participation, if invited, in coordinating and policy activities of the KIVI Main Board.
- Preparation and organisation of the Annual General Meeting of Members.
- Maintaining contacts at universities and industry in the interest of the members.
- Handling questions, wishes or comments from members of the Electrical Engineering Section.
Methodology
The departmental board meets about 10 times a year. The meetings are generally held after working hours at a location in the middle of the country. In these board meetings, issues dealt with include:
- Adoption of report of previous meeting.
- Documents received.
- Progress monitoring of action items.
- Association activities initiated by the main board and the association office.
- Developments in the field and society that may give rise to the development of activities in the interest of the members.
- Contacts with other departments of KIVI.
- Contacts with sister associations.
- Monitoring activities in the regional and sectoral activity committees.
- Cooperation with study associations in the field at universities and colleges.
- Signalling "issues" within the framework of the "issue management" policy and, within this framework, initiating activities of interest to the members of the Electrical Engineering Division.
- Promotion of KIVI among target groups.
- Preparation and organisation of the annual members' meeting.
- The financial affairs.
