Departmental board

The Department Board is responsible for:

  • Organising professional activities of interest to the members of the Electrical Engineering Division. These activities are (partly) delegated to regional or sectoral activity committees.
  • Taking initiatives in the interest of the members.
  • Reporting to the KIVI Staff Bureau on the activities of the Electrical Engineering Division.
  • Participation, if invited, in coordinating and policy activities of the KIVI Main Board.
  • Preparation and organisation of the Annual General Meeting of Members.
  • Maintaining contacts at universities and industry in the interest of the members.
  • Handling questions, wishes or comments from members of the Electrical Engineering Section.

Methodology

The departmental board meets about 10 times a year. The meetings are generally held after working hours at a location in the middle of the country. In these board meetings, issues dealt with include:

  • Adoption of report of previous meeting.
  • Documents received.
  • Progress monitoring of action items.
  • Association activities initiated by the main board and the association office.
  • Developments in the field and society that may give rise to the development of activities in the interest of the members.
  • Contacts with other departments of KIVI.
  • Contacts with sister associations.
  • Monitoring activities in the regional and sectoral activity committees.
  • Cooperation with study associations in the field at universities and colleges.
  • Signalling "issues" within the framework of the "issue management" policy and, within this framework, initiating activities of interest to the members of the Electrical Engineering Division.
  • Promotion of KIVI among target groups.
  • Preparation and organisation of the annual members' meeting.
  • The financial affairs.
