Objective
Objective
The objective of KIVI I&E is
- To be a point of contact for technical questions that arise within society and politics regarding the energy transition and to assess information from the government in this area.
- produce 'Factsheets' on forms of energy carriers and energy generation.
Cooperation with all KIVI departments and regions is essential.
Goals
- Politicians see KIVI as a natural point of contact for energy transition issues
- Society (business, education, research and civil society) knows how to find KIVI for fact-based information on the energy transition
- The activities of the Sounding Board Group lead to more registrations of experts who want to make a substantive contribution to the energy transition and thus to growth of KIVI as an association and community
- Within the association, the Sounding Board Group is seen as a link between KIVI departments on themes related to energy transition
Strategies
- We increase our social involvement by providing solicited and unsolicited information on energy transition issues
- We increase our external visibility by publicising our activities and publications through various communication channels and by introducing our sounding board group to policymakers and decision-makers within the energy transition in cooperation with the KIVI board
- We increase our internal visibility by actively approaching relevant KIVI departments for cooperation on energy issues that transcend departments
- We contribute to the development of the "KIVI hallmark" by providing objective and well-founded information that is understandable for the target group
- We contribute to KIVI's membership development by inviting experts (both members and non-members) within our networks to participate in our activities
Principles
- We endorse the Paris Agreement and its corollaries such as the EU Green Deal and the National Climate Agreement
- We use the IPCC publications - which also underpin the Paris Agreement - as a starting point in relation to greenhouse gas emissions and their effects on the climate
- We jointly define and prioritise our spearheads in the field of energy transition and ensure that a multidisciplinary team (at least five experts) is formed for each spearhead
- We are technology-neutral and assess technologies on factual data regarding revenues and costs, greenhouse gas emission reduction, bandwidth, spatial integration, system integration, safety, circularity and other relevant aspects
- We hold open discussions based on substantiated facts, treating each other with respect
- We avoid any appearance of conflicts of interest by working in multidisciplinary teams that ensure that information going public is objective and well-founded
We realise that we are part of an association and that we should act according to KIVI regulations.
