Current altitude file of the Netherlands
The Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland contains data of ground level heights. Currently, height models are extracted from the single base file of the AHN (with a point density of 1 point per 16m2). This density is sufficient for a ground level height model, but a higher point density is needed for flood defences and urban areas.
Soil Information System (BIS)
The BIS provides access to soil data and scenarios for sustainable soil and groundwater use. It allows the effects of measures on soil and groundwater to be calculated. The system contains up-to-date information on Dutch soil, systematically collected and processed.
Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Software Directory
"The Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Software Directory (GGSD) catalogues 1773 programs in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Rock Mechanics, Engineering Geology, Foundation Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geoenvironmental Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Data Analysis and Data Visualisation and lists 907 worldwide suppliers and publishers of these programs."
Soil composition data Flanders
Databank Ondergrond Vlaanderen (DOV) is a cartographically oriented database with cartographic and alphanumeric data. The database contains 100,000 borings, 25,000 soundings and 15,000 groundwater monitoring points.
Subsurface data
The Geological Survey of the Netherlands - TNO manages and provides data of the subsurface. This includes measurement data from drilling, probing, geophysical surveys, groundwater levels and laboratory analyses of soil samples and groundwater. Geological knowledge is added to the data and recorded in geological and hydrogeological subsurface models. These data and models are freely accessible via the websites Dinoloket and the Netherlands Oil and Gas Portal. The Geological Survey of the Netherlands has been designated as the operational manager of the Subsurface Key Register.
